Southam’s Annual Mop Fair takes place in October each year and draws families into the town from a wide area.

The Mop is opened officially at 3.00pm and there are fairground rides and sideshows suitable for all ages throughout the town centre, which is closed to traffic for the duration of the event.   There is traditionally a hog roast (organised by Southam & District Lions) in the Olde Mint car park, with the pork & stuffing baps ready from approximately 6.30pm.

The Mop is one of the highlights of the town’s entertainment calendar and has a very long tradition.  Adults and children can enjoy an evening of thrilling fairground entertainment in a traffic-free environment.  With Candy Floss, Toffee Apples and Hot Dog stalls, and local food outlets open to keep everyone fed and watered.

Then overnight, the Mop disappears, and the town is back to normal again.
