The Battle of Edgehill took place on 23rd October 1642 in a large open field between Kineton and Radway. This was the first major battle of the English Civil Wars between Royalists and Parliamentarians, and took place two months after the first significant skirmish of the war at Southam on 23rd August 1642.
A permanent exhibition in St Peter’s Church Radway provides information and insights into the Battle of Edgehill, and also the effect of the English Civil War on the population of rural Warwickshire.
The Church is open during daylight hours. Entry to the exhibition is free of charge, but donations are welcome. Guided groups and school visits are welcome by prior arrangement.
